They say blogs are like a diary...something like Notes to Myself. Hugh Prather's first book of his own quotes is one of my much loved works. In it you will find 'isms' to match all situations and reading it at various times will give you the solace that is needed at that point of time. One of my all time favorite quote is:
"People are often proud of achievements. They are proud of the result not of the action!"
How so very true! You make a movie, and those at home, at work and in your personal life, are all up in arms at long working hours, bad pay, interference at work, so on and so forth. I mean, there are just too many issues that almost deter you from completing what you began. When you finish and the spotlight is ON - the very same bunch will cry out loud claiming you (and your work sometimes!) as their very own. Please note that this 'very own' moment comes after seeing the result. Not from appreciating the efforts spent on making the result possible.
Nothing equals success - its the best thing that can ever happen to an individual. But to get there is a task that requires the might of a giant. But most times, we are small, frail human beings with little to possess and much to grumble. Over and above personal affirmatives, we need outside stimuli, and often are left with none to believe in us.
Those that stay put no matter what your status is; those that hang on with you no matter how small your purse has shrunk; those that offer ideas and hold your hand when you bawl your heart out - Hold onto these folks...for they are the ones who will be proud of your efforts! To have more than one person who can stand up for you is a life well lived.
Guess, I'm lucky that way. Going through one of my worst phases in my career - I see the faces that are with me right now, proud of every step I take, unmindful of the result, but happy that I'm trying; sometimes being the very reason for me to try.
